July 3 - League Announces Good Citizen Scholars The Bay Village Chapter of the League of Women Voters Cuyahoga Area has named two 2011 Bay High School graduates as outstanding “Good Citizens” of the school and community. Bridget Doughty and Michael Sorge were awarded a $1,000 college scholarship each at the recent Kiwanis Awards Night. Bridget and Michael were selected for their superior qualities of character, scholarship and leadership. Read more...  April 16 - League of Women Voters Honors Lynda Mayer The League of Women Voters Cuyahoga Area has named Shaker Heights resident Lynda B. Mayer as its “2011 Leaguer of the Year” in recognition of her outstanding efforts as an advocate for good government. A celebratory luncheon and League benefit are set for Saturday, April 16, 2011, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Cleveland Skating Club, 2500 Kemper Road, Shaker Heights, OH 44120. The event includes a cash bar, luncheon, live and silent auctions, raffles, and entertainment by DJ Ray Carr. Proceeds benefit the League’s advocacy and education programs.
